Diabetic socks frequently asked questions
What size of diabetic-friendly socks do I need?
At Mobility Genie, we stock a range of sizes to suit your needs. As our diabetic-friendly socks are made with stretchy material, you can comfortably buy your usual shoe size without issue. We stock the following sizes:
- Small 4-7
- Medium 6-11
- Large 11-13
Are diabetic socks or compression socks better?
Compression socks tend to be tight-fitting to prevent swelling and reduce fluid retention in the foot, ankle, and calf. Diabetic socks are often loose and stretchy, which reduces irritation for sensitive feet. If your skin is sensitive, especially with pressure, it is best to opt for looser socks to minimise rubbing.
What are diabetic socks made of?
Diabetic-friendly socks tend to be made from 98% cotton and 2% lycra, allowing for a super-soft, stretchy, premium material. By making these socks non-restrictive, pressure on sensitive skin is reduced so you will find that our socks don’t restrict blood circulation or leave marks on the legs.
